You might be a Bunny Mom if.... SALAD EDITION!

When you are a bunny, you know your leafy greens. I'm a big boy, so my Mommy likes to give me a salad in the morning, one in the evening, and one before bed. So each day I get about three cups of salad that is greens recommended by my vet. As such, we're somewhat experts in lettuce in this house. So we decided to write this post about lettuce and how you know you are a bunny mom based on your grocery store habits.

You might be a bunny mom if...

1) You get annoyed when the lettuce at the grocery store looks bad.

Ordinarily my Mom gets her groceries from Amazon Fresh because there's a pandemic and she's a busy lady. Normally, it's fine. But the other day they sent us some wilted and dead looking red leaf lettuce and Mommy got SO MAD. I think she actually went online and complained.

2) You get really excited over giant heads of bok choy.

So one day we only needed my greens, so Mommy ventured to the actual grocery store and Giant had HUGE heads of bok choy. All of the other lettuce wasn't that great but the bok choy was HUGE. It lasted me two whole weeks! We were excited :-)

3) You get annoyed when they only have small heads or send you small heads of lettuce.

This week Amazon Fresh sent us a tiny head of romaine and a tiny TINY head of bok choy. We got it Saturday and we're already almost out. That is no good!

4) You know the difference between the types of chard and get annoyed when they send you the wrong one.

Rainbow chard is not the same as swiss chard. I like swiss chard, but they store keeps sending us rainbow. Again, Mommy complains every time but they still do it!

5) The cashier and people in the store give you a funny look when you buy giant amounts of multiple types of leafy greens all the time. And you know from the look on their face when they don't know what type of lettuce it is... and can tell them the number.

Yes, that's seven bags of five different types of lettuce (never iceburg! It's bad for me!). And yes, that is all  Mom is getting. And yes, we buy this a LOT. We're a bunny family. It's a way of life.

6) You let your bunny pick which three types of lettuce he wants in each salad.

My Mom does this when I follow her into the kitchen. She'll show me two bags at a time and I'll poke one with my nose and that's my choice. I like to help make my salads!

7) And finally... you time your own eating around when you want to give the bunny his salad!

I have radar when it comes to the fridge. I can be dead asleep in a full flop and will still wake up and come running to the fridge if I hear it open. So sometimes my Mommy will hold off getting herself something so her "hoppy" hour will be timed to my evening snack. I think that's only polite. It's rude to eat and not offer the other person in the room something, after all!

(Mommy trying to go into the kitchen while I'm sleeping... nice try, Mom!)

So there you have it! We love our leafy greens around here! We bunnies like a variety of foods, and sometimes Mom will even add some herbs like parsley or cilantro (I LOVE cilantro!). Bunny salads are indeed exciting things and I highly recommend them!
